Houston's District's IH-10 East Freeway Completed Early
With a goal of reducing congestion by adding an additional lane in each direction, the two-phase, $20.2-million IH-10 East Freeway in East Harris County opened early this fall.
Each phase was completed ahead of schedule, earning contractor Pace Services of Cypress a $600,000 bonus for each phase. The first phase was completed in 145 of the allotted 175 days, while the second was completed in 147 days. Construction began in August 2008 and ended in September.
