Local developer Steve Atkins of LINEA, in conjunction with JT Burnette and Chad Kittrell of Capital City Partners of Tallahassee, announced plans to redevelop the historic Barnett Bank and Laura Street Trio buildings in downtown Jacksonville into a mixed-use development, including a boutique hotel, restaurants, retail shops and residential rental apartments.

Developers announced plans recently to redevelop the historic Barnett Bank and Laura Street Trio buildings in downtown Jacksonville into a mixed-use development, including a boutique hotel, restaurants, retail shops and residential rental apartments.

The Barnett building will become The Bank Hotel, a 120-room boutique hotel inspired by and themed after the former Barnett Bank. It also will include 40 rental apartments.

Plans for the Laura Street Trio�the former Florida Life Building, Bisbee Building and Florida National Bank�call for 98 loft-style apartments and more than 17,000 sq ft of retail space. The proposed development will also include construction of a 248-space parking structure.

The project team includes the architectural and planning firm Ervin, Lovett & Miller; and Danis Construction, both of Jacksonville.
