The American Council of Engineering Cos. of Colorado’s 2009 Golf Tournament held this summer at Hiwan Golf Club in Evergreen raised more than $8,000 for the association’s scholarship fund. This annual event is one of the primary sources for growing the scholarship fund each year.
Earlier this year, the council awarded $32,500 in scholarships to 11 students pursuing engineering degrees in Colorado, the largest distribution of scholarships in the council’s history. ACEC/CO also provided $1,000 in scholarships to the Colorado Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement program for disadvantaged Colorado high school students planning to study engineering.
Scholarship applications are open to engineering students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in ABET-accredited Colorado engineering programs. Students must be entering their junior, senior or fifth year in a five-year undergraduate program in fall 2010.
The deadline for 2010 scholarship applications is Feb. 5, 2010. For more information on the scholarship program, eligibility or to obtain an application, visit www.acec-co.org.
