Developer Wiens Real Estate Ventures LLC (WREV) has started construction on the second of three office buildings in the Arista residential, retail, office and entertainment community. Arista is the 200-acre, transit-oriented development anchored by the 1stBank Center along U.S. 36 between Denver and Boulder.

Arista Place II is located along the main street within Arista and will have main-floor restaurant and retail tenants with Class A office space above.

GKK is the architect of Arista Place II and Pinkard Construction is the general contractor.

Upon completion in June 2016, Arista Place II will be an 82,000-sq-ft, five-story office and retail building. It is adjacent to Arista Place I, a 111,160-sq-ft office building that has been 95% leased to office and retail tenants for some time. WREV says plans are also underway to begin construction of Arista Place III, upon the finalization of leases at Arista Place II.

“Construction activity at Arista was slowed during the recession, but since 2012, more than 1,250 residences have been built, a 90,000-sq-ft hospital is under construction, and a 68,000-sq-ft medical office building is in planning. Now we’re underway with Arista Place II,” said Joe Zepeda, senior project manager for WREV.

“Arista overcame the hurdle of the recession and now the development is quickly evolving into everything we thought it could be,” added Tim Wiens, WREV principal.

It is within walking distance of the RTD transit stop. Covered parking will also be provided in the adjacent Parkade, which Arista shares with the RTD bus rapid transit stop along U.S. 36.

Arista is home to the 1stBank Center, which hosts 60 to 80 concerts and events a year. Also at Arista is the aloft Hotel, many restaurants and retailers, and plentiful residential options. The University of Colorado, with Adeptus Health, is also underway with construction of a hospital along 120th Avenue in Arista, and Venture Medical has announced plans for a medical office building. In addition to current activity, WREV says it is busy making plans for more than 45 acres of land at Arista that has been made available for further office and retail development.
