The University of Utah and Red Butte Gardens needed a pavilion to support concerts but wanted something that would blend into the surrounding area. The new center stage pavilion was constructed with massive structural steel elements cantilevered off oversized concrete footings to eliminate unsightly cross-bracing that would hinder the sightlines of concert patrons.

University of Utah Red Butte Rose Garden & Pavilion

The pavilion was specifically built for the Red Butte Garden Concert Series. The rose garden area was revamped, with Big-D adding a new rose garden area and a wedding area perfect for a city with one of the highest volumes of weddings in the country. Big-D also planted new vegetation and lawn areas, relocated Red Butte Road and created new garden walls, arbors, ADA-accessible paths, seating areas and security fencing.
