McCarthy Building Cos. Inc., the nation’s 12th largest domestic builder and one of the largest employee-owned companies in America, recently opened a Colorado office at 445 Union St. in Lakewood. The company has been building in Colorado for more than 25 years.

The company says that opening a permanent office in the state provides easy accessibility for McCarthy’s existing Colorado clients and strategically positions it to serve new customers in one of the country’s fastest-growing and most economically vibrant regions.

“Colorado has seen tremendous population growth along the Front Range, with continued construction of vertical building and infrastructure projects,” said Ray Sedey, McCarthy executive vice president. “We’re thrilled to establish a permanent home to better serve clients looking to build in the region, particularly in the healthcare, education, commercial, parking, water/waste water and solar markets.”

McCarthy has delivered more than $1.2-billlion worth of construction in Colorado, including the new Children’s Hospital Colorado; Children’s Hospital Colorado East Tower Addition and Renovation; St. Mary’s Hospital Century Project; University of Colorado Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion; and the University of Colorado Hospital Critical Care Tower. Currently, McCarthy is working on projects for the Southern Delivery System for Colorado Springs Utilities and Metro Wastewater Reclamation District.

“At McCarthy, we are committed to providing an enhanced client experience by delivering innovative building solutions at each stage of the preconstruction and construction processes and then on through completion,” said Sedey. “We champion the utilization of technology and self-performing work in the field to ensure the highest level of quality, efficiency and cost-effective delivery. These services and our unique client-centric approach are the reasons clients in Colorado have continued to select McCarthy. We look forward to building both structures and long-lasting relationships within the industry and community.”

McCarthy celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2014.

“As our company moves into the next 150 years, it is fitting that we commit to a market we have served for many years and that many of our employee-owners have called home,” added Sedey. “McCarthy is uniquely entrepreneurial as a 100% employee-owned company, which meshes well with this community.”
