Dutch-based global engineer ARCADIS NV on Sept. 21 unveiled a single brand that will supercede those of its acquired units. They include two century-old firms: claims consultant EC Harris, purchased in 2011, and Hyder Consulting, bought last year after a bidding war with a Japanese firm.

One exception is the firm’s architectural unit, which now is called CallisonRTKL and was formed in April to link designers RTKL, purchased in 2007, and Callison, which was acquired also in 2014.

The new logo reflects ARCADIS’ “global capabilities,” says CEO Neil McArthur. Arcadis ranks at No. 7 on ENR’s list of the Top 150 Global Design Firms and has 28,000 global employees.

Wael Allan, the firm's chief in the Middle East, told one on-line publication that in the region, "we will see our expert teams from EC Harris and Hyder Consulting come together."
