Malissa Attebery was hired by Walter P Moore, Houston, as its learning manager. In this role, she manages the firm's learning program, which provides classes and training opportunities to employees. Prior to joining the firm, she was an instructional designer for Lone Star College. LJA Engineering, Houston, has announced several staff changes. Jack Shick was promoted to senior project manager in the firm's Houston transportation division. Riley Sladek was hired as a project manager in the same division and is based in Austin. Michael Rusk was promoted to vice president in the firm's Houston land development division. Noe Escobar was promoted to senior project manager in the division, and Amanda Carriage has been promoted to division project manager.

Whipple

Crompion International, Baton Rouge, La., has hired Bob Whipple as vice president of engineering and Angel Proaño as vice president of international sales. Dave Carter was hired as sales manager, and Ken Grantham was promoted to executive vice president.

The American Society for Engineering Education has elected Nicholas Altiero as president-elect for 2013-2014. He has been dean of the School of Science and Engineering at Tulane University, New Orleans, since 2006.
