Jeff Light has been promoted to contract manager for the Texas division at Hoar Construction. He began his career at the firm more than 10 years ago and serves as senior project manager for both the $60-million Hendrick Medical Center expansion and the $10-million Texas Tech Health Science Center School of Nursing addition in Abilene, Texas.
Joe Tracy has been promoted to regional manager of the Central Texas office of Hill & Wilkinson, Austin. He will oversee the firm's existing projects and new business relationships in the Central Texas region.
Matthew Frey recently joined Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Houston, as business development manager for its commercial market. Prior to joining the contractor, he spent seven years managing business development and marketing departments for other large U.S. construction firms.
Taylor Baumgartner has been promoted to project manager in the Houston land development division of LJA Engineering, Houston. He was previously assistant project manager at the same firm. Baumgartner's new responsibilities include managing the preparation of construction plans, specifications, bidding and contract documents, engineering reports, feasibility investigations and rehabilitation projects.
Chris Credeur has joined the waste management division of Remedial Construction Services, Houston, as program manager. Credeur was most recently at Veolia Water Industrial Business Group. Credeur specializes in refinery hydrocarbon asset recovery and coker quench cycle injection to reduce all offsite disposal of solids generated from secondary oil-bearing residuals.
Shae Jobe has joined Wilson Architectural Group Inc., Houston. He was previously principal architect at Michael Gaertner Architects. Jobe brings more than 16 years of architectural experience in design sectors such as multifamily, aviation and medical.
Structura Inc., Austin, recently announced several new hires. Wayne Coulter joins the firm as superintendent in the Houston office. He brings more than 15 years of industry experience, most recently as superintendent for Anslow Bryant Construction. Mike Walker joins the firm as superintendent in the Austin office. Previously, he was a superintendent with Robins & Morton. James Short also was hired as superintendent in Austin. He had been a superintendent at DCA.
Lindsey Smith was named project coordinator in Houston. Smith most recently served as project controls supervisor for Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam. Ashley Cooper was appointed project coordinator in Austin. He was assistant project manager for Anslow Bryant Construction. In addition, Jessica Meyer was promoted to project coordinator in Austin; she previously served as estimating administrator.
The Design-Build Institute of America Southwest Region announced its 2012-13 board of directors, including several representatives from Texas and Louisiana. Named as region chair was Douglas Herbst, vice president of alternative project delivery for MWH Constructors, Houston. Hugh B. Sanford, senior project manager at The Beck Group, Austin, was named secretary. Drew Yaggy, preconstruction manager at TDIndustries Inc., Dallas, is immediate past chair.
The group also appointed chapter presidents in Texas and Louisiana. Peter Narvarte, preconstruction services manager at Austin-based Flintco, was elected president of the Austin chapter. Rodney D'Spain, principal at Burns & McDonnell, Fort Worth, was named president of the Dallas/Fort Worth chapter, while Peter T. Bailey, senior vice president at CDM Constructors Inc., Houston, was named president of the Houston chapter. Kent B. Dussom, transportation group manager at URS Corp., Metairie, La., was named president of the Louisiana chapter. Homer Guy, director of federal services for Raba-Kistner Consultants, San Antonio, was elected president of the San Antonio chapter.
