has been hired by Skanska as vice president of business development at its Los Angeles office. He was most recently with Morley Construction. The firm also hired

Tess da Silva as project executive in that office. She has more than 20 years of experience in construction and program management and was previously with Lend Lease. Skanska adds that Larry Casey, senior vice president, has relocated to Los Angeles from Southern Florida.

Kevin Alexander has joined Hazen and Sawyer as vice president and regional manager of Western operations. He will maintain both project and technical leadership while overseeing the firm's existing offices in California and Arizona as well as opening and managing a new one in San Diego.

James Ritchie has joined SCS Engineers as a project director. A registered geologist in California and Washington, he has specialized in environmental consulting and site restoration. Ritchie is based in the firm's Pleasanton office.

has joined Sundt Construction as a project engineer in its California district. She previously worked on the Kaiser San Leandro Medical Center project.

Parex USA has hired Akkad Slevany as corporate purchasing manager. Most recently, he served as sourcing manager for Jarrow, a nutraceutical manufacturer. Parex USA produces specialty chemicals and ready-to-use mortars for the construction industry.

Man-Chung Tang, chairman of T.Y. Lin International in San Francisco, has won the Institution of Structural Engineers 2013 Gold Medal for his contribution to the design of long-span bridges. Among his designs are the Shibanpo Bridge and the Caiyuanba Bridge, both of which cross China's Yangtze River.

Christian Alexander now is global business development director of Parsons Government Services Inc. He joined the firm in 2013 and has more than 25 years of business development experience, most recently in national security.

Greg Hulbert has joined Gensler as director for global accounts in the Northwest region, based in San Francisco. He will specialize in identifying new business opportunities.

Laurence Pelosi has joined Thompson | Dorfman Partners as a partner, tasked with expanding its capital market activities and new development opportunities. He will remain involved with Hatch Today, a co-working space environment in San Francisco, and McKinley Realty Partners, which focuses on suburban and urban development.
