In our industry, change is an essential element of growth, and we are excited to tell you about some positive changes coming that include improved coverage of the construction industry in Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.

By now many of our readers are aware of changes on the horizon for Engineering News-Record and, in particular, its sister publications known until recently as the Regional Publications, which include Mountain States Construction magazine.

In recent research, readers told us that enhancing our regional news coverage would be the most important change we could make—and we are responding. In 2011, the local magazine currently known as Mountain States Construction will be called ENR Mountain States and will become a bi-monthly section within ENR. The first issue of ENR Mountain States will be available in February.

However, these changes also include staffing changes in our Denver office. Editor Melissa Leslie is leaving McGraw-Hill Construction to pursue other opportunities. Editor-in-chief Mark Shaw will take over editing responsibilities for ENR Mountain States and The Daily Journal.

What does this mean for you?

As a reader, you’ll have improved access to:
• In-depth coverage of Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming delivered six times a year as a special section within ENR.

• Insights ENR is known for— from company rankings to business management and from safety to construction economics. All the news, data, analysis and commentary that help you do your job more effectively.

• News about bid dates, contract awards and new plans from Dodge Reports and economic data from McGraw-Hill Construction Research and Analytics.

• 24/7 content on ENR.com focused on the Mountain States region and two e-newsletters to alert you to breaking news.

• Access to more content and deeper coverage, both regionally and nationally. You’ll also have more opportunities to interact with editors about news that’s relevant to you and your industry.

The editors at McGraw-Hill Construction will continue to bring you the latest news on the industry delivered in the most visually appealing and reader-friendly way. Look for new user-generated photo galleries, opportunities to be highlighted in our industry leaders top lists and more.

If you are not currently an ENR subscriber, you can call 1-877-876-8208 and mention promotion code PEN0DRCP to get a special half-price offer of $41 for a one-year ENR subscription that includes the new ENR Mountain States.

We thank you for your support and interest in The Daily Journal and Mountain States Construction and we look forward to your feedback as we launch the new ENR Mountain States early next year.

Cordially,

Melissa Leslie, Editor
