More than $2bil in state projects are idled as the legislature tries to pass a budget

The June 30th deadline to pass a state budget, the first in more than two years, came and went over the weekend and now idled road projects will almost certainly cost the taxpayers more.
In addition to featuring the top-ranked general contractors of the year based on 2016 revenue, the July issue of ENR Midwest will also profile Kansas City's JE Dunn Construction as the 2017 ENR Midwest Contractor of the Year.
Firms responding to ENR Midwest’s annual Top Contractors survey collectively reported a strong increase in 2016 revenue. The 100 general contractors and construction managers who participated in the Midwest Top Contractors survey together reported approximately $34.03 billion in revenue from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin, according to a pre-publication review of the data.
