GOP-led panels in the House voted to pare back spending on renewable energy and lower-carbon infrastructure, but a fight over extending tax cuts looms.
The money is expected to fund wall construction across the Southwest border for the next three years under indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract vehicles that could be renewed in 2028.
The continuing resolution to fund the government through Sept. 30 next goes to the Senate, where it will need bipartisan support to avoid a shutdown and an interruption of government funding and services.
