The McElroy Guided Side-Bend Tester is designed for on-site ductility tests of pipe fusion segments. The device can performa bend-back test of a piece of polyethylene pipe with a 1-in. to 7-in. wall thickness. A test segment is cut from the pipe witha planer and inserted into the tester; the side-bend tester then places the entire wall thickness into tension.
