Foxconn Technology Group confirmed it has selected Gilbane Building Co. of Providence, R.I., and Germany’s M+W Group as the joint-venture general contractor for a $10-billion LCD screen manufacturing facility planned for Mt. Pleasant, Wis. CH2M, a subsidiary of Jacobs Engineering, was chosen for architecture and engineering services, and local firm Sigma Group was picked as environmental consultant. The first phase of construction will include completion of a 1.5-million-sq-ft television assembly building, a LCD screen glass facility, water and energy plants, offices and parking. Local governments have performed onsite infrastructure work to prepare for construction. Bid requests are expected to go out in the next two to four weeks.
