TENNESSEE 12/2 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bidders to carry out the Center Hill Dam Reinforcing Berm project, which entails constructing a grouting and inspection gallery along the berm’s interior. The face of the berm is conventional concrete or grout-enriched. The footprint and abutments require about 100,000 cu yd of overburden and rock excavation. The space between the saddle dam and berm will be filled with 160,000 cu yd of unclassified excavated material from stabilization efforts along the left rim. At the left rim, drilling, blasting, scaling and stabilization of rock will be required to reshape to a stable slope each side of an existing rock cut.
