The Senate Appropriations Committee approved a bill on July 10 that would hike the General Services Administration’s fiscal year 2009 construction account 44%, to $767 million. That includes $331 million for a Dept. of Homeland Security headquarters and $200 million to continue work at a Food and Drug Administration complex. The House Appropriations Committee recommended cutting the program to $454 million.
