The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee was set to vote March 1 on a bill to make technical corrections to 2005’s SAFETEA-LU transportation law. The House passed a corrections bill in 2006, but the Senate didn’t agree. Like the 2006 bill, the new one gives a blue-ribbon panel six more months to do a revenue-policy study and amends SAFETEA-LU’s research section, says committee aide Jim Berard. It also will have project provisions.
