Strategic Integration
Weifield Group, Denver, provided the project’s electrical distribution equipment, electrical feeders, branch power and lighting, sound systems, intercom, access control, intrusion detection systems, raceways for teledata, and an auditorium dimming and sound system.

“Extensive pre-planning and heightened commissioning led to strategic plans, with every detail focused on energy efficiency,” says Russell Tafoya, Weifield’s senior project manager.

For the security, fire alarm, intercom and lighting control systems, Weifield created schematics depicting each control scenario and developed descriptive narratives to ensure the client and design team received the integrated final product they desired, he explains.

“Numerous meetings engaged the community, staff, parents and students throughout the design process, resulting in a facility that maximizes community use and has pushed the project to its current sustainable level,” Young says.

If the project achieves LEED-Platinum, it will be the first school in Colorado to earn that status.
