FRONTIER Building, an experience-focused national General Construction, Construction Management and Design-Build contractor, has completed the new Chipotle Mexican Grill at 100 Coastal Way, next to a Hampton Inn & Suites, in Chesapeake, Virginia. FRONTIER Building was responsible for the build-out of the 2,100 square-foot restaurant that also includes a drive-thru and nine parking spaces. The national contractor has also completed the Chipotle on 4712 Hampton Blvd in Norfolk, Virginia.

Miami-based FRONTIER Building has completed the construction of a new 7-Eleven gas and convenience store located at 1301 N. Laburnum Avenue in Richmond, Virginia. The store includes 2,940 square feet of air-conditioned retail space along with 22 parking spaces & eight fueling pumps. FRONTIER Building provided the ground-up, full-site construction for the retail structure as well as the fueling component. This is the fourth 7-Eleven the company has completed in the MidAtlantic in just 4 months.

The experience-focused general construction firm recently completed the ground up construction of a 23,682 square foot store, which is now open to the public. The international grocery chain is located at 24330 Liberty Harvest Court.

33.438" x 39.5" Laminated Glass IBP GlassWalk Floor Systems installed in the Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial, located in Arlington, VA. The project is an attempt to recreate as closely as possible the actual conditions and look of the house back in the era before the war. It was a clear glass floor on top of the actual quarter.
These glass panels were installed by GBA Architectural Products + Services (https://gbaproducts.com/) in 2019.

FRONTIER Building has completed the construction of a 22,070 sf Aldi in Falls Church, Va. The store replaces a former Baby’s R Us located at 5725 Columbia Pike & meets ALDI’s latest prototype requirements. “Completing this Aldi is a significant moment for FRONTIER Building,” said Andrew Goggin, director of construction at FRONTIER Building. “We have the capacity & experience to build great projects for the brand & are looking forward to the process of building out more in the future.”

Ballinger designed the 22,300 SF adaptive reuse, retaining the building’s character-defining features, including the exterior, a double-story banking hall and board room. The interior is designed to reflect Linode’s innovative culture. Ubiquitous transparency and a variety of collaboration spaces support Linode’s goals to improve communication between teams and retain talent. The former banking hall is now a commons for gatherings and special events.

The Preservation Alliance of Greater Philadelphia recognized Ballinger’s recent renovation of the Corn Exchange National Bank Building at the 2019 Preservation Achievement Awards. The Old City landmark, known for its neoclassical style and history as a former MTV Real World house, was built for the Union Bank of Philadelphia in 1907 and now serves as workspace for the growing cloud-hosting company Linode.

Vantage Data Centers held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 23, 2019 for its recently completed Phase One of its Mega Campus located in the heart of “Data Center Alley” in Northern Virginia. The 42-acre campus will consist of five data centers totaling 142MW and more than 1 million square feet when fully developed. Phase one provides customers with 6MW of critical IT capacity and is the company’s largest campus in history to welcome customers.

FRONTIER Building has completed the construction of a new 11,948 square foot shopping plaza for Brixmor Property Group. The Hanover Square Retail Center located in Mechanicsville, Virginia is anchored by Chipotle and Panera Bread.
FRONTIER’s building division was responsible for site work and ground-up construction of the base building shell and also provided the interior construction of Chipotle and Panera Bread.

FRONTIER Building recently completed the construction of Prince Frederick, Maryland’s first Chick-Fil-A. The experience-focused national commercial contractor provided site development and building construction for the popular fast-casual chain. FRONTIER completed the restaurant in 5 months. It measures 4,795 square feet and sits on a 76,767 square-foot lot on Solomons Island Road. This is FRONTIER’s second Chick-Fil-A to date. The firm also built western New York’s first Chick-Fil-A late 2018.

The west canopy of the stadium is supported by a unique tapering double cantilever plate girder / column. This configuration allowed for transfer of both lateral and gravity/wind load from the canopy to be collected and transferred while maintaining an open, brace free concourse below.

The 116 ft long east canopy is supported 12ft deep tapering plate girders. Utilizing plate girders instead of trusses facilitated quick fabrication and erection times due to the small number of connections while keeping overall costs low by decreasing labor costs.

The new 31,000 SF Laurel Library and historic Emancipation Park in Laurel, MD replaces the City’s old library, originally built in 1965, with a larger, more modern facility and outdoor space.
Heery provided construction management services for the reinvigorated Laurel Branch Library. A unique feature of the new facility is the interactive dinosaur-themed children’s room named “Discovery Island” where children can view a full-size Nanotyrannus fossil replica through the Library’s glass floor.

Heery recently completed construction management services for the $33 million, 97,588 SF Discovery Elementary School. A key opportunity within this project included Heery delivering the school as the first "net zero energy" school on the east coast of the United States.
Sustainable features include 1,706 roof-mounted solar panels, a geothermal well field, solar pre-heat of domestic water, 100% LED lighting, and exterior ICF walls with high thermal mass.
