As summer yields to fall, and students of all ages return to school, ENR's Regional Editors also are turning their attention to more youthful endeavors, more particularly those of talented up-and-comers in the design and construction professions.

ENR's Regional Editions once again are pleased to announce a Call for Entries for their “Top 20 Under 40” competitions, an annual program that honors the contributions of young design and construction professionals to their companies, their professions and their communities.

Industry members are encouraged to nominate their colleagues and peers for the competition or, alternatively, nominate themselves. The only hitch: All nominees must be under the age of 40 as of Jan. 1, 2013.

Those familiar with the competition may notice we've extended its geographic reach. For the first time, the program blankets every state in the nation rather than simply those that regularly receive coverage in ENR's seven regional editions.

Accordingly, the franchise is adding three new regions for purposes of the competition: ENR New England, ENR Mid-Atlantic and ENR Northwest.

Here's how it breaks out:

• ENR California — Calif., Hawaii

• ENR Mid-Atlantic — D.C., Del., Md., Pa., Va., W. Va.

• ENR Midwest — Ill., Ind., Iowa, Ky., Mich., Minn., Mo., Ohio, Wis.

• ENR Mountain States — Colo., Idaho, Kan., Mont., N.D., Neb., S.D., Utah, Wyo.

• ENR New England — Maine, Mass., N.H., R.I., Vt.

• ENR New York — Conn., N.J., N.Y.

• ENR Northwest — Alaska, Ore., Wash.

• ENR Southeast — Ala., Fla., Ga., N.C., P.R., S.C., Tenn.

• ENR Southwest — Ariz., N.M. , Nev.

• ENR Texas & Louisiana — Ark., La., Miss., Okla., Texas

Nominees for each region will be judged by an independent panel comprised of industry professionals.
