Completed on time and under budget in June 2024, this 87,750-sq-ft warehouse facility ensures Amazon customers in rural areas receive the same service level as those in metropolitan centers.
The facility features office space, employee break rooms and bathrooms supporting daily operations, plus a 35,589-sq-ft launch canopy providing sheltered staging for vehicles and packages.
The project included extensive site infrastructure as well, from a new public roadway connecting Federal Way to Table Rock Road to traffic signal modifications, civil utilities and landscaping improvements.
The site’s existing soil was already poor in strength, but the situation was exacerbated by heavy rains, creating muddy, unstable ground that complicated logistics, deliveries and site access.
As part of the project’s ground improvement strategy, crews installed geo-aggregate piers across the building pad and canopy areas and implemented cement-treated soil throughout the building pad, canopy, parking lot and roadway areas, ensuring the foundation could safely support construction equipment and the completed facility.
The project achieved more than 76,000 work hours with zero recordables or lost-time incidents.
