The La Scuola Mission Campus near San Francisco’s Mission District neighborhood consists of a new ground-up four-story K-8 school building for the La Scuola International School.
The 70,500-sq-ft building is being constructed on a portion of the campus of the existing school and shares a lot with a historic building, the St. Charles Building. The Build Group is the contractor, and DCI Engineers is the structural engineer on the project.
George Baker, owner of Golden State Photographic, captured the shot of the project’s final deck pour in April of this year. He was able to capture the image with a DJI Mavic 3 drone shortly after the fog had cleared.
“My favorite part about this photo is that it shows what it takes for the client to make these things happen; many subcontractors coordinating, street lane closure, traffic control, the epic pump truck reaching up top,” he explains. “It just shows the overall beauty of the structural concrete package in the midmorning light with some warmth and contrast.”
