Title: Night Crane Inspection Photographer & Submitter: Dan Galvin, Senior Project Manager, The Barnhart Co.
Using his NikonZ5, photographer Dan Galvin captured a worker preparing for a girder setting on a widened bridge over the Salt River as part of the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project in Tempe, Ariz.
The project, constructed by the Broadway Curve Constructors, a joint venture team comprised of Flatiron Constructors, Pulice Construction and FNF Construction, is widening I-10 from I-17 to Loop 202 through Phoenix, Tempe and Chandler, Ariz., about 10 miles total.
was walking around inside the closure of I-10, which had two westbound lanes closed over the river. As I was waiting for the girder to arrive, I noticed one of the workers in a lift who was maneuvering himself to help guide the crane operator during the pick.
The lighting from the light plant nicely illuminated the crane boom and the man in the lift against the night sky with the city of Tempe’s lights in the background,” Galvin says.
