The design and construction team delivered a 400-ft-long, five-span bridge that significantly improves safety and mobility by replacing an at-grade intersection that required people to cross six lanes of high-speed traffic.

The $4.7-million project, which was completed in June 2021, took nearly six years to design, coordinate and construct. The original bridge design blocked views of the historic 1920s-era Boulevard Station, potentially rendering it ineligible for the National Register of Historic Places. A total of 12 designs were developed, including one that featured a tunnel. The selected design added two years to the schedule and required additional funding.
