Constructing a $306-million campus that could help KPMG attract and retain talent required DPR Construction to interact with 17 different work groups within the company that influenced areas of the building. The 770,000-sq-ft KPMG Lakehouse serves as the company’s corporate learning, development and innovation center. The new campus features training and classroom spaces, a ballroom with adjacent outdoor event space, 800 guest rooms, a large show kitchen with a dining facility and additional amenity spaces. The DPR team laser scanned the elevated concrete decks prior to casting. Design was not complete during the structure phase, so DPR was able to share the concrete deck information with the design team to support its ongoing work. Prefabrication, preconstruction planning and self-perform work by DPR also helped the project complete two months ahead of schedule. The two-year project tallied 2.1 million work hours and was delivered on budget.
