The American Council of Engineering Cos. of Colorado honored Jeanne Sharps of Denver's Felsburg Holt & Ullevig as the 2012 Outstanding Woman in Engineering. The award recognizes a woman in a leadership position in the engineering profession for professional achievements that make her a visible role model for young engineers.
Roy Martinez has been named the new water agency market sector director for HDR's water business group. He will focus on strategic planning and business development and support the development of technical resources by working with business class directors. He will be headquartered in HDR's Denver office. Gary Outlaw (left)and Peter Dixon (below) have been named vice presidents at Merrick & Co., Aurora, Colo. Outlaw will lead business development in the company's infrastructure market sector, including civil engineering, surveying and mapping, and water resources. Dixon will oversee business development for the national security facilities, nuclear services and technology, energy and life sciences divisions. Dixon was most recently business development manager of energy and technology at Merrick. Denver's RNL has promoted Ken Anderson to associate principal and Trent Cito and Ryan Dawson to senior associate. Nathan Gulash, Paula McAtee, Will Todd, Dominic Weilminster and Lisa Glass were named associates. Anderson is the studio lead for RNL's Washington, D.C., office and leads the design firm's transportation work for the East Coast and Southwest regions. His experience involves a diverse number of project types, including mixed-use commercial, urban design, civic and religious architecture. Martin/Martin Inc. Consulting Engineers, Lakewood and Edwards, Colo., has named Elizabeth Jones a principal and promoted 19 other staff members in the structural and civil engineering departments. Promoted to associate were Kelly Knowles, Shane Ewing, Brian Tinkey, Pontus Ugander and Brian Dummer. New senior project engineers are Ben Downey, Emily Guglielmo and Eric Sobel. New project engineers are Nic Remington and Luke Waldo. Four Martin/Martin engineers recently passed their Colorado professional engineer exams: Adam Boswell, Jason Munkatchy, Melyssa Lorenger and Ryan Byrne. Promoted to Engineer II were Jim Foreman, Raleigh Fisher and Chris Adams. Dan Eagan is now a senior CAD operator, and Dustin Behm is a CAD coordinator. Veteran architect and planner Jim Leggitt has joined the design team at Denver's studioINSITE. In addition to Leggitt, the design firm's leadership team includes Dennis Rubba, founding principal; Chris Geddes, associate principal of planning; Chris Sutterfield, associate principal of design; and Kimberly Douglas, associate principal, landscape architecture.
