Laurie Roden has been promoted to president and COO of HDR Construction Control Corp. Her role includes coordinating HDR's construction services practice across locations and service lines. She has been with HDR for 15 years, most recently as West region transportation director. Roden is a member of the American Council of Engineering Cos., American Public Works Association, Design Build Institute of America, Construction Management Association of America and Women's Transportation Seminar, among others.

Brig. Gen. David C. Hill has taken command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Dallas-based southwestern division, which covers seven states, including New Mexico. Hill had been director of the Office of the Chief of Engineers at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

Ryan Hook has been promoted to project director at Kitchell, Phoenix. He has been with the firm for 13 years, working primarily on health care facilities. Hook is a graduate of Purdue University.

Rich Distler is returning to McCarthy Building Cos. as vice president of business development for the infrastructure and water services team in the Southwest. After working for nearly a decade as a project manager with McCarthy, Distler spent the past four years as chief operating officer of Energy Systems Co. in Omaha.

Cory Wilder has been named vice president and national pipeline engineering practice lead for Michael Baker Jr. Inc., Phoenix. Wilder obtained his bachelor's degree in civil engineering and his master's degree in arctic engineering from the University of Alaska.

David N. Bowers has been promoted from city engineer to public works director for Las Vegas, where he began working in 2005 as a program director. The department supervises $80 million worth of projects for its 1,258 miles of roads, 1,640 miles of sewers and 330 miles of storm drains.

Duane Boreham was promoted to vice president of Sparks, Nev.-based Q&D Construction Inc.'s aviation services division, after joining the company in 2001 as project manager. Q&D was ranked No. 294 on ENR's Top 400 Contractors list, with $200.4 million in revenue in 2013.

Tracy Kerns has been named operations manager for the federal division of Sundt Construction, Tempe, Ariz. Before joining the firm, he was senior project executive and Southwest regional operations manager at Centennial Contractors.

Kirk McClure was elected to the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation board. He is director of business development for McCarthy Building Cos. and a director of the Arizona Association of Economic Development.

Louis Zachary has been hired by Opus Design Build LLC as regional director of construction, based in Phoenix. He had been a real estate executive at CSM Corp. and Cushman & Wakefield.

Brandon Stephens was named division manager for Rosendin Electric in Arizona. He has been with the firm for more than 10 years as a project manager and project executive.

Stanley Consultants has elevated Dan Bender to vice president. He is the Las Vegas-based West region manager for the firm's infrastructure business.
