Bob Kain has been named director of health care for Balfour Beatty Construction, where he will lead market endeavors in Phoenix and Southern California. Kain comes to the company from HMC Architects, where he was the primary owner, president and CEO. He was principal-in-charge for several large replacement facilities including the $370-million Kaiser Permanente Replacement Hospital in Fontana, Calif.

Leary Jones also joined Balfour Beatty as senior director of safety, health and environmental for the Southwest. Jones previously served as Turner Construction's Southwest safety director.

Byron Goetting has been named regional economist at RCG Economics in Las Vegas. He previously worked as a financial analyst at The Mirage Hotel & Casino. 

McClure
Kirk McClure has joined the Phoenix office of McCarthy Building Cos. as director of business development for the Southwest division, focusing on municipal, higher education and commercial construction projects. He previously served as vice president of business expansion for the Arizona Commerce Authority in Phoenix. McClure currently serves on the board of directors for the Arizona Association of Economic Development.

Kimberley Shapiro has been hired by Skanska USA as senior director of business development for the company's Arizona building operations in Phoenix. She most recently served as director of business development with HDR Architecture.

The firm also promoted Robert Cortazzo to Arizona manager of Skanska USA Building and Kevin Devlin to project executive. In his new role, Devlin will manage Skanska's industrial and manufacturing sector work in Arizona.
