In the past few weeks I've felt a bit like the dinner guest who shows up without a nice bottle of wine. I apologize for not getting to the store in time. Many of my contacts have asked what Texas Construction will look like in 2011. While positive change is the straightforward answer, we have yet to make available our finessed and final media kits, our gift for the new year. These are coming soon. We are excited about them and think you will be, too.

By now many of our readers are aware of changes on the horizon for Engineering News-Record and particularly its sister publications known until now simply as the "Regional Publications." As we begin to plan our national and regional coverage for 2011, the message we are sharing with the industry we cover is that this change is an essential element of growth. We are excited to show and tell you about these positive changes coming to ENR in 2011. We are proud to present this, our new regional logo:

ENR is expanding its stellar national coverage to report on the projects, companies, and people who are making a difference locally. In recent reader research, our subscribers identified "regional news" as the most compelling enhancement we could make - and we listened. The result is seven new regional editions of ENR that will provide the insights you've come to expect from ENR, including local rankings, company profiles, people news, and a new "City Scoop" that will leverage project information from McGraw-Hill Construction's Dodge Reports. Our "Digging Deeper" features will focus on various sectors in the A/E/C industry--and we'll want your ideas, feedback and contribution as expert sources.

With that in mind, we will begin to deliver these new features through regional editions to ENR in the following markets: California, Midwest, Mountain States, Southeast, Southwest, Texas & Louisiana, and New York.

The editors at McGraw-Hill Construction will continue to bring you the latest news on the industry delivered in the most visually appealing, reader and user-friendly way in which we are able. Look for new user-generated photo galleries, opportunities to be highlighted in our industry leaders top lists and more.

Here's to a healthy and prosperous new year.
