It is my distinct privilege to announce ENR Midwest’s Top Young Professionals for 2018. These 21 individuals have built extraordinary industry portfolios, donate significant amounts of time and expertise to serve their communities and have created and worked on innovative industry solutions that have saved time and money on their projects.

ENR Midwest received 56 entries for this year's competition, so it was  challenging to narrow the outstanding entries to just 21. I strongly encourage anyone who submitted but did not win to resubmit next year. Save a copy of your entry so you can add in all your accomplishments in the next year. Our judging panel featured several former Top Young Professionals who selected and vetted our winners based on the standards of accomplishment they, themselves, set in last year's competition. Any judges whose companies or co-workers were nominated did not submit a review of those young professionals to avoid any conflicts of interest.

They are: Sarah Jacobson, associate principal with the Lamar Johnson Collaborative and a 2017 ENR Midwest TYP; Joe Eckhart, project executive at AECOM/Hunt and another ENR Midwest 2017 TYP; Ben Braun, vice president of corporate affairs at American Structurepoint and a 2017 ENR Midwest TYP; Mani Golparvar-Fard, associate professor of civil engineering, computer science and technology entrepeneurship at the University of Illinois and a 2017 ENR Midwest TYP as well as a 2017 ENR National Top 20 Under 40 winner; and Kelly Carpenter, director of training for the Associated Builders and Contractors of America's Pelican Chapter. We think all our judges for their time and expertise.
