All these project types and more will be honored in ENR's Best Projects 2012 Awards Competition, which will be accepting entries until July 2.
In all, the competition honors projects in 18 categories ranging from infrastructure, government buildings and landscaping to multifamily residential, transportation and sports facilities. There is literally something for everyone.
Here's how it works: Projects first compete in nine regional contests, with an expert panel of design and construction professionals evaluating each project on the basis of teamwork, quality, safety, workmanship and community impact. Winning projects in each of the 18 categories will be profiled in regional editions of ENR. The panel also will name one of the 18 winning projects Project of the Year, with the winning project receiving extensive feature coverage in the same issue.
ENR Midwest will honor the winning firms in its Nov. 26 edition. All winning projects in all nine regions also will be recognized at an awards breakfast.
Hold on, though. That's just the beginning.
Winners of regional competitions then will compete against one another in ENR's national Best of the Best Projects 2012 competition. There’s no need to re-enter.Winners will be profiled in the national edition of ENR.
This year, we're also inaugurating a Best Projects Safety Award, with regional judges honoring the project that demonstrates the best overall safety record in consideration of the project's size and scope, as well as the challenges team members confronted in executing it.
