To realize a modern headquarters that would serve the school district for decades, this project features a two-story, 60,000 sq-ft administrative office building for the majority of the school district’s functional departments as well as a 220-stall parking garage.
The steel-framed structure incorporates concrete shear walls and is clad in masonry veneer, metal panel walls and curtain wall glazing systems. Inside, features include conference rooms, work rooms, break rooms, open office areas, private offices, testing rooms, team rooms and classrooms.
The team originally planned to build the entire building floor by floor, but had to resequence to account for weather delays. The building has an L-shaped structure with three major sections—two wings and a central area—so the steel workers built both floors of one section, then concrete workers and framers would work on that section while the steel workers moved on to the next section.
This plan enabled the team to make up lost time and helped result in an on-time delivery in September 2024.
