There is still time for Illinois engineering students to apply for financial assistance and/or professional development opportunities through the Illinois Engineering Initiative (IEI) and Illinois Society of Professional Engineers and the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE).

The deadline to apply or submit for a variety of programs is 11:59 p.m. CST April 15. 

This year's IEI scholarships are open to students enrolled in Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)-accredited engineering programs in universities and colleges across the state, and will provide up to $1,000, $2,000 and $22,000 per recipient to support their education. 

3 Awards Available from IEI: 

Butkus-Sylvester Family Scholarship – Up to $22,000 for tuition and fees not covered by other aid. Applicant must be a minority, undergraduate female engineering student in the Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. IEI Scholarship – To be eligible for the $2,000 IEI Scholarship, students must attend an Illinois university and be of at least Junior standing. Demonstrable financial need. View full description, requirements and application here.

Peppy Moldovan Scholarship – $1,000 - Applicants must be female engineering students currently enrolled as sophomores at qualifying colleges or universities, and the scholarship is contingent upon recipient’s enrollment and acceptance in an engineering program accredited by ABET. ENGage Engineering Virtual Poster Session Contest:

Junior and senior engineering students are invited to showcase their student-faculty research to a panel of Engineering Professionals (and potential future employers) for feedback and a chance to win a cash prize. Presented by ISPE, there are five presentation categories, including Civil, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical and Structural, allowing for students within each discipline to connect with reviewers possessing expertise and experience in that field.
