Phase 1 of this $39.6-million project includes a natatorium, aquatics park and multipurpose facility, providing a 26-acre recreational/cultural hub for a previously underserved community. 

Installing custom steel trusses for the natatorium was a complex process that required assembling the trusses on site, coordinating the lift plan to pick up the trusses to place in the natatorium and building ramps to get the manlift and scissor lifts inside the pool for the erection of the trusses.

After realizing the bolted connections weren’t working as anticipated, crews put up shoring and jacked up each truss to install additional steel to the bottom to help beef up some of the mechanical joints. 

The LEED Silver-targeted project was delivered in March 2021.
