With Thibodaux Regional Medical Center anticipating an influx of COVID-19 patients, construction teams worked two shifts daily, seven days a week to complete a 22,400-sq-ft, $10.9-million medical surgical unit in just 76 days.
After Thibodaux Regional contacted DonahueFavret to build the space, the contractor mobilized its teams within five days to take immediate action.
Two-thirds of the way in, the owner requested that medical/surgical rooms be transformed into critical care unit rooms. Although the change order added 30 days and $1.8 million to the contract, the project team completed work four days early, returning more than $300,000 to the owner.
