This seven-story inpatient tower features 106 beds, a grand two-story lobby, healing gardens and a top-floor diner with ocean views.
The project used a collaborative review and construction format. Through this delivery method, the team eliminated the need to obtain deferred approvals, reducing the review schedule by six months and allowing construction to start a year ahead of time. Due to a compressed review schedule, the team had to act quickly when the mat foundation design was reviewed and challenged. With little time to defend the design, the team created a solution by adding grade-beam reinforcement into the mat foundation, which preserved the schedule.
