Located at the base of the Steamboat ski area, the busy intersection of Mt. Werner Circle and Ski Time Square Drive experiences significant traffic backups at the end of the ski day. The new 120-ft-dia roundabout smooths the flow of traffic and improves safety for pedestrians. It also makes it easier for hotel shuttles and city buses to leave the Gondola Transit Center.
Baseline Engineering Corp. used Infraworks to prepare a 3D model of the proposed roundabout during preliminary design. The model helped convey the design intent to project stakeholders in a clear and effective way. Baseline also met with the tenants and owners from adjacent properties to solicit feedback and communicate the progress of work throughout the project.
