The Hudson Elementary School Addition and Renovation technically began in 2008, although funding wasn’t available until 2014. Adolfson & Peterson Construction spent nearly 10 years working with the district and the Hudson community to secure the necessary funds through a voter-driven bond measure and the Colorado BEST program.

The project made improvements to an occupied elementary school. The two-story, 37,801-sq-ft structural steel and masonry building includes new classrooms, a media center, STEM lab, music room, art room and administrative spaces. Renovations included a new roof, flooring and life-safety upgrades. Additional sitework installed new playground pits, landscaping and sidewalks. Although the project was a renovation with two additions, the only portion of the original building remaining upon completion was a 13,041-sq-ft gym.
