Many residents of Wasatch County have spent their entire lives in the area and want to stay connected with the community as they age. The 110-room, 68,000-sq-ft Rocky Mountain Care facility in Heber City offers skilled nursing care to meet the needs of the area’s aging population. Designed to evoke the feeling of an elegant lodge within a neighborhood, the facility connects its residential areas through a Main Street to amenities such as dining, shops, salons, a community theater area and outdoor courtyards.

The design also includes sustainable components such as LED lighting, recycled materials, TPO roofing and a geothermal ground-source heat pump system as the  sole source for heating and cooling. When initial tests showed insufficient water production, the team drilled two additional geothermal wells to provide maximum water flows at peak times of the year.
