The 52,000-sq-ft Senior Care Center at Gunnison Valley Health offers a safe, social experience for up to 50 individuals in need of memory care and skilled nursing. The center connects to an adjacent assisted-living building, providing greater amenities to all residents. The care center balances the need to meet stringent codes similar to a hospital while also achieving a residential feel. The layout creates smaller neighborhoods where 15 to 18 people are organized into groups for a community-like setting. Private rooms are oriented around a common area for dining, socializing and events, with nurse stations carefully integrated into the common area to create a better synergy between staff and residents.
