Cordell Corp. is reviewing qualification documents for a one-story, 10,000-sq-ft fire and police station for the The Las Vegas Visitors & Convention Authority. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reviewing general contractor bids for a 43,000-sq-ft, two-story ground control station operations building and a 43,000-sq-ft, two-story operations and command center in support of MQ-9 Reaper remotely piloted aircraft at Creech Air Force Base. Work will include the demolition of three existing pre-engineered buildings. The two new buildings will have reinforced concrete slabs, structural steel frames, split faced or precast concrete exterior, standing seam metal roofs, fire detection/protection and special security enhancements. Core Construction has begun work on a $48-million, 500,000-sq-ft public safety training facility that will include seven buildings for the town of Gilbert. Nevada

Las Vegas Paving has begun work on repaving Las Vegas Boulevard between Spring Mountain Road and Sahara Avenue for Clark County. Work also includes installing a 24-in. water line, removal and replacement of curb and gutter and installing high security bollards. The project also includes a bid alternate that includes construction of adjacent Resorts World offsite improvements, including the installation of new traffic signal systems.
