“The hottest markets for Barton Malow in Detroit are probably the commercial and mixed-use markets,” Baxa says. “We recently completed the Shinola Hotel, and now we’re working on the mixed-use program for the $900-million Hudson’s redevelopment project being developed by Bedrock. We have a strong 2018 backlog in all our markets, and that’s something we pride ourselves on. I can say right now all of our markets have great opportunities, and we have a good backlog in all of them. There’s great energy here now.”
