Constructing a 77,860-sq-ft facility for the University of Louisiana Athletics Program in less than 11 months posed scheduling and planning challenges, but the university’s decision to include a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy room proved especially difficult. The project team created a 35-ft custom polar plunge, a thermal plunge and an underwater treadmill and therapy pool—all in one room. The pools were placed in a 10-ft-deep pit that contained all motors, pumps and piping, with different installation requirements for each pool.
