Although the Las Vegas metro area’s local economy is still dependent on gaming and hospitality, there is new interest in manufacturing and other industries, according to Miller. Faraday Futures and another undisclosed electric-car manufacturer may soon begin building factories in the metropolitan area. He says construction activity and economic development will converge as the Clark County School District implements its new $500-million construction plan, which will create the facilities to train a future workforce for the anticipated manufacturing surge.
