Triple Five has finalized conceptual plans and is completing land acquisition for its estimated $4-billion American Dream Miami retail and entertainment center. The complex will be built on a 225-acre site near the Florida Turnpike and Interstate 75 in Miami. Planned for inclusion within the 5 million sq ft of retail and entertainment space is a 3-million-sq-ft shopping mall, 16-story indoor ski slope, water park, observation wheel, a 3,000-seat movie theater, ice skating rink and 2,000 hotel rooms. Florida
Lefrak Organization is working with Turnberry Construction/Development Co. to develop the SoLeMia mixed-use project, which is valued at between $3 billion and $4 billion. The development will include rental apartments, 12 multifamily residential buildings, a 150-room hotel, an auto dealership, retail-commercial-entertainment spaces, a movie theater and two 10-acre Crystal Lagoons. The firms have completed master planning the complex, which would include a total of 57 buildings and entail redeveloping approximately 184 acres of city-owned land near Biscayne Bay Boulevard. Georgia
Cousins Properties is developing NCR’s $200-million headquarters building, planned for 8th and Spring streets in Atlanta. Duda Paine Architects, Durham, N.C., is leading design of the single-story, 485,000-sq-ft structural steel-framed building. North Carolina
Mission Health System Inc
. has completed preconstruction work for its $200-million Mission Hospital Tower project in Asheville. Plans for the six-story, 681,000-sq-ft facility include 216 beds and 84 emergency room beds. Balfour Beatty Construction will lead development of the estimated $300-million iSquare Mall/Solis and Capella Hotels project planned for Orlando’s International Drive area. The project will include two high-rise towers totaling roughly 1 million sq ft. The complex will include 530 hotel rooms; a nine-level, 1,600-space parking garage; observation deck with rotating restaurant; ice skating rink; 350,000 sq ft of retail; and the Solis Orlando and Capella Suites hotels.
