anticipates construction to start in June on the Estates at Acqualina in Sunny Isles Beach. Working drawings for the $326-million condominium development should be complete in early 2016. The project includes two 50-story reinforced concrete towers housing 264 residences and 45,000 sq ft of amenities, including a spa, ice skating rink, movie theater and bowling lanes. North Carolina
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Facilities Planning and Design is planning renovations to the Mary Ellen Jones Research building. The project includes renovations to 220,000 sq ft of existing lab, mechanical and office spaces, including new mechanical systems, selective sitework improvements and building envelope. Construction also includes mechanical renovations to main mechanical floor and roof areas, vivarium renovations and lab and office space renovations. Project bid date is Dec. 3. has been hired by the city of Miami Beach to lead construction on a renovation and expansion to the Miami Beach Convention Center at the end of 2015. The project includes the renovation of 500,000 sq ft of exhibit space and all ancillary interior spaces, including the main entrance, plus renovations to the convention center’s facade, adding a new curtain wall system and decorative finish. has been hired as general contractor for the $111.9-million eastern expansion of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport’s Terminal 4. The 108,700-sq-ft, four-story project includes the eastern expansion of the new Concourse G (gates G1-G8), demolition of the existing Concourse H, reconfiguration of the security screening check point, construction of new offices and construction of building shell space intended for the Federal Inspection Services.
