Baylor University’s new McLane Stadium has 45,000 seats, 30 suites, six founder’s suites and 79 semi-private loge boxes. Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing installed a Tremco ExoAir 220 air barrier and metal through-wall flashing on the exterior walls in addition to Owens Corning cavity insulation between the air barrier and the brick. Tremco Vulkem traffic coating was applied in several portals. Hilti firestopping material was applied at the head of the CMU walls, in the basement and in the electrical rooms. The exterior brick joints and precast bowl were sealed with Tremco silicone. Preformed Emseal expansion joints were installed, running up the precast bowl and through the concourse. Finally, Prosoco graffiti sealer and water repellent was applied to the exterior of the stadium.

The firm also installed a subroof system consisting of 0.5-in. threaded rods hanging from a structural clip bolted into the concrete on the underside of the stands. A galvanized metal deck was suspended on these rods to form the roof. All other utilities for the suites had to hang from the subroof, and each area in need of a subroof was unique, requiring specific measurements for installation.
