In less than 90 days Guarantee Electrical Co. of Ferguson, Mo., energized the 224,000-sq-ft Technology and Innovation Center for pharmacy benefits manager Express Scripts Inc.

The facility, located in suburban St. Louis, is part of the recently launched NorthPark master development.

Guarantee installed power, lighting, UPS back-up power, emergency, fire alarm, data and security system raceways.

The center, which has the capacity to dispense, package and ship more than 110,000 prescriptions daily, hosts the most advanced home delivery system in the Express Scripts system.

“This project advanced at a pace similar to retooling a car plant at model change-over,” says Steve Kellenberger, Guarantee project director. “In less than 90 days, our field crews helped take a structure they inherited as a partial building shell and transform it into a functioning prescription-filling facility.”

Additionally, Guarantee played a design assist role, collaborating with electrical/mechanical engineer-of-record Liles Engineering Design Consultants of Memphis, Tenn., by providing design support and field constructability drawings.

A joint venture of Clayco Construction Co./Paric, both of St. Louis, served as construction manager/contractor, with Clayco affiliate Forum Studio serving as project architect.
