Bryan Savage of Passaro Associates, Rochester, N.Y., has passed his professional engineer exam to become a licensed professional engineer in New York. Savage works in the firm's aviation services group on commercial and general airport improvement projects. He has five years of experience and holds a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of New York at Buffalo.

Gardiner & Theobold, London, has opened an office in Morristown, N.J. The construction consultancy firm has hired Brian Tobiasz to serve as regional director for its New Jersey office.


Del Sordo
The Spector Group, New York, has hired Michael Del Sordo as a project manager. In addition, the firm has hired Jared Morganstein as a junior architect and Kristine Townsend as intermediate/senior designer. The new hires will report directly to Scott Spector, a company principal.

Dewberry, Fairfax, Va., has hired Scott W. Beckman as assistant branch manager in the Parsippany, N.J., office. He will provide senior management support for the environmental services branch and develop environmental opportunities in the public and private sector.

In addition, Dewberry has promoted Brian Jecker to senior associate from associate. The firm also named Shahid Joarder associate in addition to his current role as mechanical/electrical/plumbing department manager in the firm's Bloomfield, N.J., office.

The American Society of Professional Engineers has selected Peter Ruffini, vice president and chief estimator of Gilbane Building Co., to serve as president for a second two-year term at ASPE's New Jersey chapter.


Urban Engineers, Hartford, Conn., has promoted Jason L. Cardinal to vice president and office manager from project manager and resident engineer. In this role, he will continue to oversee projects in Connecticut and other parts of New England in addition to his management responsibilities.

Stantec, New York, has hired Donna Walcavage as a principal landscape architect. She has worked with New York City and state agencies on projects including design of a new plaza at Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn; the Stuyvesant Cove waterfront in Manhattan; and the conversion of two lanes of traffic and unused median into a linear park and bikeway for the Lower East Side.

Stantec has also hired Sumeet Kishnani as a senior associate in its transportation planning division. Stantec says he will play a key role in expanding work in transportation planning and traffic engineering for sports facilities.

Sampogna Contracting, Westbury, N.Y., has hired Brett Yonelunas as a project manager. His immediate role will be to manage a new state-of-the-art project in Manhattan that includes two residential towers and an adjoining courtyard at 540 West 49t St. and at 545 West 48th St. Yonelunas will also assist in procuring new business.


Gilbane Building Co. has hired Anissa Sabawala as district business development manager of its New York business operations. She will be based in Gilbane's New York City office.

EYP Energy, Albany, N.Y., has hired Robert H. Morrow as a project executive. Morrow brings more than 14 years of client-focused, results-oriented business management experience to his new role.

Skanska USA has promoted Paul Haining from environmental, health and safety (EHS) director for Skanska USA Civil Northeast to the newly created position of EHS vice president for the firm's civil business unit.

In addition, Skanska has hired Jack LaMantia as director of EHS for its building business unit's metro New York office.

ADMAR Positioning Solutions has appointed Joe Missavage as a sales representative.

BL Cos., Meriden, Conn., has hired Heather Halotek as director of marketing and corporate communications. She will oversee and direct the company's marketing, communications, advertising and public relations efforts. In addition, she will be responsible for competitive intelligence and client-focused market positioning. Prior to joining BL Cos., Halotek worked at UIL Holdings Corp.—the parent company of United Illuminating, Southern Connecticut Gas and Connecticut Natural Gas—where she was the manager of marketing and public affairs.
